Dr. Alian Garay is a Board-Certified General Surgeon with fellowship training in Advanced Laparoscopic, Minimally Invasive, and Bariatric Surgery. Dr. Garay first served our country in the military prior to getting into the medical field. He attended elementary school through high school in the Houston area. After being honorably discharged from the military, he graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Houston. Dr. Garay received his Doctorate of Medicine at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston, Texas. He then went on to complete his internship and residency in General Surgery at the University of Colorado Health Science Center in Denver, Colorado. He rounded out his training with a fellowship at Legacy Health Systems in Portland, Oregon in Bariatric, Advanced Laparoscopy, Foregut, and Minimally Invasive Surgery. 

Dr. Garay is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) as well as the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES). He served as surgical residency director of the University of Houston Graduate Medical Education Surgical Residency Program. Dr. Garay has over 12 years of Bariatric and General Surgical experience. 

Dr. Garay believes in quality healthcare with excellent long-term outcomes for his patients through education. When he is not treating patients, you will find Dr. Garay in his hometown of Kingwood with his wife and their two daughters. 

Dr. Ata Ahmad attended medical school at Louisiana State University in New Orleans. After completing his surgical training at the Louisiana State University Health Science Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, Dr. Ahmad opened his own private practice in Bay City, Texas where he spent the next five years specializing in general and laparoscopic surgery. While in Bay City, Dr. Ahmad developed a special interest in bariatric surgery.

Dr. Ahmad has successfully completed extensive training and certification for laparoscopic gastric sleeve and banding. He is one of the most experienced laparoscopic surgeons in Houston and has performed many laparoscopic procedures. Dr. Ahmad has performed surgeries in New Orleans, Dallas, Baton Rouge, Houston, and various cities across the country and is a recipient of the SRC Surgeon of Excellence in Robotic Surgery, and has been named #1 Robotic Surgeon in Houston in 2020.

Dr. Khoi H. Du is Board-Certified by the American Board of Surgery. Having been in the Houston area most of his life, Dr. Du graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Houston in Biology and completed medical school at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. He completed his general surgery residency through the Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans before completing his fellowship in minimally invasive surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, Texas. 

Dr. Du is a member of the American College of Surgeons, Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, and American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. He is fluent in English and Vietnamese and his personal interests include sports, politics and travel. 

Dr. Du has advanced training in bariatric surgery and is a staffed surgeon at Clear Lake Regional Hospital. He currently serves as the Medical Director for the Bariatric Program at HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake and was instrumental in the development of the program. 

Dr. Du specializes in general, laparoscopic and bariatric surgery, and is pleased to offer minimally invasive robotic surgery and single site procedures when appropriate.

Dr. Rafi Bidros was born to a family that is a blend of science and art. On his father’s side, many are in the medical and engineering fields. On his mother’s side, all 4 uncles are artists. Dr. Bidros grew up in Lafayette, LA, and attended school there. While attending medical school at Louisiana State University School of Medicine, he was drawn to the wonderful art of surgery. He excelled in anatomy and surgical fields but plastic surgery was his calling. He found it to be the most precise, tedious, and artistic field the perfectly fits his personality.

Cassandra (“Casey”) Olsen is a Board-Certified Dietetics/Dietitian for 12 years. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics and completed her Dietetic Internship at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. Casey received her Masters of Science in Applied Nutrition, Sports Nutrition and Fitness at Northeastern University in Boston, MA.  

Casey had been working at HCA Kingwood Hospital for the last couple of years while she grew her own private practice, NAD Nutrition. She has worked with several diseases, including but not limited to, diabetes, bariatric weight loss surgery, cardiovascular diseases (high blood pressure, high cholesterol, etc.), tube feeding, and disordered eating.
